Check out the True Blood casting notice that's been circulating recently. Also the New York Daily News has a new story about Alan Ball. True Blood gets a super brief mention as the story focuses on his new play.

First casting rumor: An unconfirmed rumor was posted on IMDB claiming that Ryan Kwanten is "up for a role." Maybe he could play Jason?
True Blood in the news: Most recently, the Tallahassee Democrat had a story about Alan Ball. Tallahassee has extra reason to pay attention to Ball as he graduated from Florida State's theatre school. The story is largely about his play, "All that I will ever be" that opens in New York on January 17. True Blood also gets a mention, though the writer incorrectly suggests that Sookie is able to read the minds of vampires. Click here for the article.
The Sookie error was repeated in the LA Daily News as a blurb about True Blood mentions that "Ball is definitely planning to retain the Southern flavor of the piece, which centers on a single waitress able to hear vampire thoughts.
Players are required to have authentic Southern accents." More importantly, the piece confirms that casting is under way. Click for the rest.
About a month ago Worldscreen.com interviewed HBO President Carolyn Strauss. True Blood was mentioned briefly along with David Milch's new project. Here's the full interview.
